The i2RT MF118 is a high-performance USB 3.0 camera module built for demanding machine vision work — and a natural fit as the overhead camera on a YAM robotic arm workcell. Not a Fisheye. Straight Lines Stay Straight. The f=2.6mm F2.4 lens is a true wide-angle design, not an ultra-wide fisheye. Table edges, bin walls, and fixture geometry render as straight lines instead of curves. Standard pinhole calibration applies cleanly — no heavy undistortion pass in your pipeline, no edge sharpness lost to resampling.
Built for the Top-Down View 118° diagonal FOV covers the YAM arm's full working envelope from a single overhead mount, without the perspective compression of an ultra-wide lens. Objects at the corners look like objects at the center — so pixel-to-table mapping stays simple and detection generalizes across the whole work area.
Fast Frame Rates, Clean in Low Light Up to 400fps at 640×480 for high-speed motion analysis, or 200fps at full 1280×1024 for detailed inspection. The fast F2.4 aperture holds usable exposure down to 0.5 lux — useful under warehouse lighting and in the shadows the arm casts across an overhead view.
Plug-and-Play, Mount-Anywhere UVC-compliant with no proprietary drivers — works out of the box on Windows, Linux (V4L2), macOS, and Android. At 39×39×31.15mm and under 1W over a single Type-C cable, it mounts to a frame rail or overhead bracket with no external power and no extra harness.
Pair It Up Mount the MF118 overhead for an undistorted view of the whole workspace, and the MF150 on the wrist where its 154° coverage keeps the gripper and target in frame at close range. Same sensor, same interface, same driver stack.
